He has worked in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Portland, Oregon, in various accounting firms, including KPMG Peat Marwick and served as a law clerk in the Oregon State Tax Court. He then graduated from Willamette College of Law, located in Salem, Oregon, in 2000. Mark and his wife chose to move to Cedar City, Utah, in order to escape the rain of the Northwest and the hustle and bustle of the big city, and to raise their four children, two of which are twin girls, in a small, college town, nestled in the beautiful red-rock canyons of Southern Utah. He finds balance in his life by having a strong commitment to family, church and the community. Before pursuing his college career, Mark served a 2-year mission in New York, New York, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mark is an Eagle Scout and is currently serving as a Scout Master. He is also President of the non-profit organization, The Happy Factory, which delivers hundreds of thousands of toys all over the world. Most recently, the organization he serves sent ten-thousand toys to the children of the tsunami-ravaged areas of Southeast Asia.
